Dreamalities Artist Statement

This is a series of my work in which I give myself total freedom to create dreamlike realities to stimulate the imagination and open an expansive mindset.

The aim is to depict nature in harmony, uncover hidden patterns, and encourage contemplating the bigger picture by connecting with the cosmos.

More specifically one can identify re-occurring themes in which birds and forests thrive, big cats will roam and observe, and interiorscapes will deteriorate where nature flourishes. Birds are considered symbolically to be connections to the spirit realm, and big cats are often associated with mystery, intuition and independence, also believed to possess a strong connection to the spirit world.

With humanity undergoing immense environmental threats, stresses, anxiety, and depression and succumbing to narratives of separation and economic struggles as mainstream tools to keep our mindset distracted from figuring out how to improve our lives, Dreamalities offer a space to visualise alternative landscapes that encapsulate a harmonious co-existence where humanity and nature thrive.

My belief is that the more we focus on what we would like see, be and experience, the more we will steer our evolution in the right direction. I’m very passionate about the shift humanity is undergoing in the ‘awakening’ process, how we identify more with our spirit as opposed to our physical bodies and mind, and Dreamalities are intuitive depictions of what connecting with that state of being looks like through my creative expression.
