Acrylic on stretched canvas

This painting was inspired by a surf trip up the West Coast. It entailed barreling lefts and perfect A-frame beach breaks. Elands Bay was a stand-out location and amongst other surfspoils, this was a trip which had to be captured in an artwork. The abandoned building is a prominent feature on the way to the surf spots, and the full moon at the time magically lit up the waves at night. The whole experience was surreal and a great source of inspiration, hence the flow of colour and creativity raining down from the clouds, in and out of the building.
