About this artwork
There is duality at play, as we are pulled into the magnificent realm of our external environment. But for us to truly become aware of the beauty that surrounds us, we must take stock of the bigger picture, and become aware of the spiritual realm within.
Seen as the gatekeeper to the spirit realm, the resplendent peacock, adorned with its brilliant and mesmerising feathers, embodies a profound spiritual energy that speaks of beauty, grace, and the power of self-expression. Its message highlights the concept of beauty externally, as well as internally.
Within the allure of our physical existence, hides a deeper message; that true beauty emerges from within. When we embrace our authentic selves, we foster a connection with our divine essence, which in turn enhances our outer world. Nature’s perfect reminder in the eye shaped pattern on the peacock’s tail, is representative of self-realisation and spiritual awakening.
The peacock on the left witnesses the flowering of the Earth, in recognition of the manifestation of existence. The other is faced towards the snake, which speaks of the challenges we face, and growth opportunities to transcending our perceived limitations. The two birds together, symbolises the relationships we form.
The universe mirrored in the water is the conduit of life. As above, so below.
The whimsical nature of the characters lifts us up out of our dense vibrational field and reminds us not to take everything so seriously. We are not separate entities but are part of the bigger picture, the unifying whole.
Thus putting into perspective the scope of our inner and outer realities. It shows the importance of how our biological selves gives birth to the realisation of our divinity, instead of searching externally, through the promises of our ever-expanding technological advances, to solve the human dilemma. We hold the power in our own hands, by the very virtue of being human. What a wondrously transcendental gift it is to be human.
